Hello, I am a student at Kent State University. I am working on a research paper on the methods and equipment used to dry FPVC resin. I am working with a local company that is getting bubbles in their clear PVC extrusion. These extrusions are used for aestetic purposes so they are trying to figure out how to eliminate them. They were told that the bubbles may be caused from moisture accumulating in the resin prior to processing. I read on another website that PVC should not need to be dried. Does anyone know if this is true or where I can find more in depth information on this topic? Thank you in advance for any information you can provide. IP: Logged |

Bubbles can be caused by water, trapped air, volatiles, chemical reactions, or shinkage. Only more details about the process can help determine the source. Tom IP: Logged |
