I am a product design student in my final year. I am curently working on my final major project which is to design and make a working prototype of a flood defence system. My design consists of a curtain stored in a door step which is pulled up in front of the door in the event of a flood. In order to create a watertight seal i propose to fix aluminum extrusions to the wall either side of the door which a rubber bead attached to the curtain will slide through. It is my under standing that there are some rubber extrusions that produce a stronger seal the greater the pressure that is applied to them. I would be extreamly greatfull of any information with regardes to this matter and the names of companies that manufacture these types of extrusions also who manufactures the aluminum extrusions that the rubber fits into IP: Logged |
