If you are considering recycling bottle flake into sheet, I'd look at the Erema system.

Their process offers significant energy savings and output of a better quality.

Battenfeld Glouscester, and the other extruder makers can all offer suitable equipment to produce Apet sheet- some will
tell you that barrel venting is sufficent and drying isn't required (6Hours), ask them what IV loss occurs. With the Erema process, IV reportedly improves.

Thanks for the info Steve. One area of polyester sheet manufacturing equipment that I am trying to get info on is in the area of orientation technology (stretching apparatus) along with high tech extrusion (i.e. vented systems requiring no drying time along with IV enhancement). Appreciate any help anyone may provide. Thanks

Your interests are immense. Oriented PET is Mylar, needs huge investment to compete with the likes of Du Pont and ICI, and is not a technology anyone can tell you, ecept the basics. Vented PET is not a mystery, nor very high-tech. Just run fast enough that the moisture comes off before it can do much chemical damage. As for increasing IV, this is a common process called solid-stating. If you are a student in SC, maybe Wellman can help you.
