Hello - I am looking for interactive training materials such as video's and CD-ROM's that deal with extrusion. I am familiar with Paulson, but quite frankly they are priced out of my companies range. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know - thanks!!

Try contacting directly spe4.org (The Society of Plastics Engineers) or TAPPI (The Association of Paper & Pulp Association).

Both are quite nominally cost effective compared to others.

Hi Strapman

As Ken has suggested above, both TAPPI and SPE have a wide variety of training materials. At the moment SPE is having a clearing sale on it's old extrusion training videos- so you could pick up a bargain They're about to release an updated version.

Chris Rauweendal offers an interactive extrusion training program- but I think the pricing is probably similar to Paulsons. http://www.hansergardner.com/dp/hg/HGCatalog_Detail.cfm?ID=CD%2DITX&CATG=P

Have you looked at hiring Paulsons packages, that may be a cost effective option.

You might like to take a look at the plastics processing packages developed for Plastics New Zealand- they are very good and quite affordable http://www.camtrain.com/learning_units_blown_film_extrusion.html

A thought for your boss " If he thinks training is expensive- how cheap is he finding ignorance"

Just to let everyone know - I have convinced my boss to purchase the 2 Paulson extrusion programs needed. I am looking forward to exposing my departemtn to these when they arrive. One thing that helped - TALK PAULSON DOWN IN PRICE!!!
Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!!

We found purchased training materials were not up to snuff for what we needed (medical processing). Our division in MN developed an internal program that is geared toward our processes and it has been great.
Best I have ever seen for opur application.
