we are recyclers of nylon and would like no know some details pertaining the feeding of nylon monofilaments viz:bristles and fibre.we would like to have some ideas of how to force feed the material into the screw so that the maximum rate of production can be possible. IP: Logged |

Mahenda, Most fiber reprocessing incorporates some kind of upstream densifier, either an agglomerator or tub densifier. In the case of Erema, they typically incorporate a tub densifier which directly feeds the extruder. This actually helps to increase extruder throughput as it preheats the resin as well. Other OEM's use ram stuffers to densify the fiber at the throat of the extruder where the ram stroke and cycle is programmed for optimum compaction. In any case, most nylon fiber has some kind of finish on it which can make it difficult to work with so be forewarned. tom ------------------ www.ppsincorp.com IP: Logged |

Mahenda, Crammer feeders have been successfully used for stuffing the light weight fibres and other plastic materials having poor bulk density into the extruder. The specially designed feeder screw provides teh vertical positive feeding force to force-feed the low density scrap into extruder feed throat. Of late, a pressure sensor is installed to check excessive pressure resulting from overfeeding and synchronise the speeds of motors automatically. R V Malik IP: Logged |
