I am trying to find out if the mass flow rate of a feedscrew increases linearly with increase in RPM. My supplied information says it should be linear, but my experimental data shows it to be second-order. I am using a 1/4" 8 pitch feed screw to transport 316L SS with a powder size distrobution from 180 to 45 microns. Please call if you need more information. Thanks! Aaron

Not linear.

For grooved-feed extruders feeding pellets (not powder), you can get very close to linear. But not with a smooth bore or powder.
