I amd looking for a new design for a single screw and a monolayer blown film die (could be handled seoaratly). The material is highMW. low MW distribution HDPE copolymer (density about 0.945g/cc; MFI ~1g/10min with 5kg weight or 0.35 with 2.16) Whocan design a custom die or screw for such materials? Good News! Tom C doesn't have to go it alone. There are plenty of "screw guys" around here to help out. ------------------ www.ppsincorp.com IP: Logged |

Be sure to tell us if you have a grooved-feed extruder- and if you do, who is the manufacturer? (Different manufacturers use different groove designs that behave differently). HDPE die and screw designs are proven- there is a lot of HDPE blown film extrusion, so there is no need for guesswork. 0.945 does sound a bit lower than most HMW-HDPE, are you sure this is not a MMWHDPE? -Bob Cunningham IP: Logged |
