hello everybody!
we are making tests with a soft touch PP coating layer on an hdpe extrusion blow molded bottle. we had several problems to receive a homogeneus distribution of the soft touch layer. there were stripes from the positioning of the internal orifices in the slave extruder die. has anyone experience and an idea how to resolve this problem?

Most problems in co-extrusion stem from two sources; 1)large differences in the viscosity of the materials as they meet. 2) Large differences in melt velocity of the flows.

By making some lab measurments and using non-newtonian flow analysis of the process flow problems like this can be diagnosed and resolved.

Your issue may have something to do with the distribution of the soft touch layer in the die manifold. Again flow analysis can help.

Please contact me direct if you would like more information.
