Dear Tom,
Thanks a lot for your advice. Than it's better for me not to use grooved feed.
Then let me give you some more details.
Screw is 120 mm (for Pet and PP)
L 37
Smooth barrel
First stage:
feed L/D 8, depth 16 mm
compression L/D 6,
metering L/D 5, depth 5.5
restrictor ring L/D 1 (including compression, decompression), depth 4mm
decompression L/D 0.6
second stage:
feed L/D 5, d=19
compression L/D 3
metering L/D 6 d=7
mixing torpedo L/D 2.4
rpm will be 90-120

Thanks in advance

You should be able to get about 400 kg/hr on PP, and 600 kg/hr on PET at 100RPM. More than that is difficult to get, less than that happens a lot for a variety of reasons. Grooves will help low PP rate.

This is the first mention of reclaiming in your posts. It also has been four years since your original posts, so haven't you tried the screw yet?

My original posts were based on the assumption you were using pelletized, dried, PET.

Reclaiming of PET flake is another matter entirely. The output rate of this screw is likely to be much less with flakes.

Do you dry the flake?
