Would you suggest any marked change in temperature configuration when running HDPE against MDPE?
Also in what way would the general extrusion properties differ, if any?

I would say it depends on your blend ratio.
If your running 50HD:50LD then the temperature profiles could be in relation to either HD or LD. In our process when we run 60HD:40LD we run HD temperatures as the mass of Hd being used is greater.
