Hello

What surface finishes are best for mold release of PET. I have looked at hard chrome and chrome nitride as options. Does any one know if these are used with PET or whether there are other (possible cheaper options)

Sam,

Something in my back of my head says that sticky PET is a sign of poor drying.

Also PET tends to crystalize slowly. Cold mold temperatures will set the surface amorphous will be tend to be stickier.

Lubricants like Acrawax C seem to be typical for polyester mold release.

We are in the extrusion forum. Could you be refering to chill rolls rather than molds. I recall posting on the PET chill roll subject in the past.

Thanks for the advice. I will try and increase the mold temperature to increase the crystallisation.
