We are currently in the mold injection business and clean our barrels with basically a brush attached to the end of a rod, ran by a hand drill back and forth. Is there not any easier automated way to do this than to have a tech stand there for hours with the drill?

Hi Veronica

Welcome to the single screw forum, what materials are you running. Do you use any chemical purges prior to pulling the screw and cleaning the barrel?

We use various homo polymer, poly styrene, general purpose resins and no chemical is used to purge the barrel.
