We have a small blown film line and the manufacturer is out of business. What changes do I have to make in the air ring (single lip) to run HDPE? I am running LDPE OK but need to run HDPE. What about the air ring angle, should that be different? Thanks. Chuck. IP: Logged |

If you want to run HMW-HDPE, you might have gauge uniformity issues and very high pressure. HMW-HDPE tends to come out of the die and go straight up before it blows out, so a straight-up design is typically used. For MMW-HDPE, that can probably run okay on a typical LDPE air ring. Would need more information to give better details. -Bob Cunningham IP: Logged |
