Hi when you mentioned John in compounding were you refering to my company. We extrude FEP and make medical tubing. Did you work there? Do you know Donna in Quality Control?

Then I know who you are. I'm Donna's husband. You know they let Chris B. go. He was the best they had.He taught me well. I can run fep with a 30 psi pressure deviation, since we have never had the use of pressure feedback or a melt pump I'd say thats pretty good. I have currently fixed all problems except one. A better sizing plate. By the way Donna says Hi. I need to find a better way to size np20 with 12% barium. Keep on getting lines from build up on sizing plate.

I'd say start looking at what is causing the build-up. Has it always been the same or has it changed? If it has changed, look into the compounding process.

Another alternative would be to eliminate the sizing bushing. Perhaps a non-contact sizing method similar to what is used for sizing tacky materials might help.

Well, I worked there for awhile myself. I talked to Chris just after he was let go. Gotta love old JB. Really commited to his employees!!!
