I have been using PP mixed with HDPE in ratios varying from 80:20 to 50:50 for making fibrillated tape which is in turn twisted to make ropes. Can I use HMHDPE in place of HDPE to make these ropes??Will HMHDPE create any processing problems as the processing to my mind should not be any different from processing a mix of PP/HDPE apart from higher extrusion temperatures?? Any help or suggestions will be highly appreciated. Also will this change the tensile strength etc of the rope.I am using a single screw extruder of screw l/d ratio of 30:1 and diameter 65 mm.
