Was wondering if anyone on the forum has installed any of the RKC TCS™ ceramic heater/forced air cooling systems on their extruders, and what their general impression was of this technology.

I do not have experience witht the specific brand of barrel heating/cooling system.

However, in general an air cooling system should provide sufficient control without excessive local heat removal. If you need more cooling than air can provide, you probably do not have a good screw design. Too, much cooling or heating will induce large temperature gradients into the melt--- i.e. poor thermal uniformity. A good screw design will provide the proper melt temperature at the desired speed and rate with minimal heat exchange.
