Hi I am trying to process a recycled nylon but it tends to have a lot of oil in it and the loading is inconsistent. We are using single screw extruders and I have been advised that a suitable mixing zone on the screw may help. Does anyone know any contacts in the UK who may be able to help? IP: Logged |

Is your mixing prolem distributive or temporal? If distributive, perhaps a Kenix type of mixer would be most inexepensive to try first. If temporal, as it sounds, then a screw mixer would probably be able to help, but this is a much more difficult situation. If the inconsistancy is drastic, then you might need to do some pre blending as a batch. There are many sources of different types of mixers, and most claim to perform well. Perhaps you can identify one who has experience with the oil loading problem.
