Recently I was using a 1 1/4" tilt and swing davis standard. While running natural dupont fep 100, my monofilament started to surge and my pressure gauge started to register negative. After troubleshooting failed I removed head, and found that the screw had slid down to the back of the head. It was at a 37 degree angle. The keyway was still engaged and screw made a gouge in back of head. How often does this occur in the plastic world. (2 rpm) (690F-540f) (Geared low) Screw is conveying, general purpose, uniform flite depth. ------------------ IP: Logged |

If the screw slides easily then you may want to get some material in it prior to tilting. Normally, on a machine of that size, the screw will have enough friction to keep it in place. IP: Logged |
