Anyone ever resurface the register on the front of an extruder barrel while it was still in place on the machine? [This message has been edited by louis33 (edited August 10, 2007).] IP: Logged |

Not sure what you mean by register, but I have made thin aluminum shims which would deform under pressure to help create a seal on bad surfaces. ------------------ Tom Cunningham www.ExtrusionTechnicalServices.com IP: Logged |

Exactly that Tom, the very front of the barrel where the breaker plate sites. The barrel liner, being harder, does not corrode with PVC, while the iron sections get eaten away if you allow the material to leak. I know about the "washer" trick, either aluminium or copper, but hey, it's a medical house and we can't contaminate the material now can we ;-) Hey, Are you ever in my neck of the woods? If so, stop in and I'll give you the 25cent tour. You might be interested. 610 IP: Logged |
