Guys
What is the pros+cons of coating chrome roll with tungstun carbide, Is there any difference in the way the roll performs. I was told that it would protect the roll from light scratches.

Allan,

Tungsten carbide coatings provide all the performance characteristics of chrome plating and more. Besides it is environmentally friendlier. It will certainly prevent scratches on the plating. Why not replace chrome plating totally by tungsten carbide coating using thermal spray coating. Please contact me if you need more information on tungsten carbide as an alternative replacement to chrome plating.
