Who would you guys recommend to build a cooling system for a rollstack. What I want is a system that could be brought in and set next to the extruder somewhere.I just want to be able to wire it and plumb it and tune it on. The current arrangement of pumps and equipment is fould and would cost more to replace and I want to start with clean water system with my new chromes rolls that are coming in. Thanks IP: Logged |

Allan-- The design of the rollers with their cooling passages is the major factor in how well the cooling will work. Since you have those already coming, their designer must have recommendations on what the cooling water supply should be like for the intended load. ------------------ IP: Logged |

Thanks for your reply Stephen, I have spoken with my Exttruder and roll manufacture about what is needed but they have no intrest in building a cooling system just for one roll stack. I have one quote from a company in Italy but would like to avoid paying in euro"s if I can. Thanks IP: Logged |

Allan-- It is strange that the roll manufacturer does not have a recommendation for the cooling requirements for his rolls. Perhaps, you can get some good computer modeling done "at home" for the heat transfer in the rolls so you can then specify,in detail, the water flow and controls that will be required for your application. Then go looking for someone to provide what you need in detail. This way you take responsibility for the performance, so the supplier is not liable for how well the system actually works, just on how well it complies with the p.o. I think it will be much easier to get a good price with this well defined arrangement. Since you do not want to spend euros, seems like North America is the place to look for help. There are many possibilities. ------------------ IP: Logged |
