Hello all
New here and new to my job as an extrusion tech. We are trying to blend PVDF and PE and extrude thru a monofliament die. Anyone have any experience with PVDF. A build up of material forms around the exit material causing a flow issue. Any thoughts or info would be a great help. I know this is only scrapping the surface but I have to start somewhere. Thanks

Are PE and PVDF compatible? I would not think they are. The incompatibility would be the cause of the buildup. See my article on die buildup here;
http://www.ptonline.com/articles/200901ts1.html

Compatibility problems are mentioned as a cause for die buildup.

Google is your friend , a number of papers have been presented at SPE ANTECs, if you are in extrusion and not a member of SPE (Society Of Plastic Engineers), you are missing out on a great resource www.4spe.org , TAPPI's film extrusion manual will give you some pointers too.
