We ar going to venture in to PE monofilament. I was always told that PE must be stretched in hotwater ovens rather than hotair ovens. Anybody have any info on this. Lately It was mentioned to me that PE can be stretched in hotair as we do with PP. Is this possible. We may try but I would like to have a heads up. We have hotwater option but only on one extuder. Any thoughts

I've succesfully oriented PE in a hot air oven (Fisher Price toys yellow pull string) as long ago as 1970. I suppose it still works.

The method is defined by the fiber properties – large size monofilaments require hot water drawing at low speed; small size monofilaments could be drawn in steps in hot ovens at higher speed. Devil as always in details
