Dear Sirs

We are makers of PVC cable grade pellets.
Can you advice us what is the chemical additives to use to obtain glossy finish on the outer shell of the finished PVC cables?
The pellets we are making does not sem to have enough gloss in finishing.
Will be grateful for your help.
The foremulation we are using is

PVC resin 100
coated chalk 35
stabiliser 3.5
stearic acid 1
parafin wax 1
Chlorinated parafin wax 20
DOP 30
colour 0.800

Expert Skip Thacker,responds as follows.

Tushan's formulation, containing a fairly high level of filler, inherently will not be very glossy----perhaps a little (1-2 phr) K-120N acrylic process aid may help--it does for rigid PVC. Usually a little higher heat in the last die zone of profile extrusion will give added gloss. Otherwise, reduce filler level.
