I have 2 batches of PVC sheet made on same extruder with I am told the same mix. One batch is fine while the other when pulled cracks and snaps. Anyone any ideas on what could be the cause. Thanks Joe. IP: Logged |

Joe,Two sheet runs from same extruder, "same" mix?? Can you obtain extrusion running conditions on both batches(temps, amps,RPMs,feed rates, output rates etc.etc.)?? Sounds like one was extruded on the cold side of proper melt temps. IP: Logged |

Why would it be labeled as two batches if it were from the same extruder and the same mix?If there were a break in the run, have you considered de-mixing of the blend while being handled and stored? Could rework from the first part of the run have been added to the second part of the run? Strange things happen in production sometimes. ------------------ Best Regards, Tom Cunningham Extrusion Technical Services www.ExtrusionTechnicalServices.com IP: Logged |
