Hello All,I am sure that I am not the only compounding person experiencing the problem of competeing against low cost PVC compounds. Can anyone suggest any changes i can make to reduce the cost of my product without significant compromise in quality ? My current formla for (68 shore) shoe compound is: PVC - K57 54.7 parts DOP - 28.3 parts Chlorinated Paraffin -11.0 parts CaCo3 (2 mic) - 2.6 parts PB Stabiliser - 1.8 parts ESO (soya oil) -1.6 parts final cost $1.56/kg Cable sheathing compound: PVC (K71)- 43.4 parts DOP - 19.1 parts CaCo3 (2 mic) - 31.2 parts Stearic acid - 0.1 parts PB Stabiliser - 6.0 parts Wax - 0.2 parts final cost $1.32/kg I am unable to compete against products from China or India, the landed cost of imported material is lower that my production cost. BM If you tell me your Raw Material costs maybe I can give you some help. Another question is your compound spesification eg Density, shore and uses characteristics.

Hello,My costs are Resin: $1150/Mt DOP: $185/Mt Chlor Parr: $1000/Mt CaCo3: $400/Mt Stabiliser: $1600/Mt ESO: $2000/Mt Shoe compound Specs: Shore A: 68 Density: 1.2 g/cm3 Processcing temp: 70 deg C Sheathing compound Specs: General Purpose, Medium Temperature, Flexible PVC, for Sheathing and Insulation. Shore A: 85 Density: 1.53 g/cm3 Processcing temp: 70 deg C Insulation compound Specs: Medium Flame Retardant Flexible PVC for Sheathing and Insulation.
