Hello,we are experiencing problems with ur co-kneader from Buss (MKS 200, screw lenght 2580mm, screw diameter 130mm, barrel diameter 200). We have black deposits growing on the screw flights just before the buffle ring. These black deposits are released from time to time. We are sure that this problem is not correlated to the formulation. It seems that the problem is correlated to output (this extruder is dimensioned for max output of 3 tons and we are running at 1.7 - 2.0 tons/h) cause at high output becomes stronger, but reducing to 1.3 - 1.5 tons/h will not solve it. heating/cooling devices are running properly. Do you have any experience? Any suggestion? Thank you in advance. regards IP: Logged |

My understanding is the ring is there to provide resistance to improve mixing. However it seems that the resistance is causing the melt to overheat and burn. Higher output would cause even more resistance and overheating. Can you try a different ring or remove it?------------------ Best Regards, Tom Cunningham www.ExtrusionTechnicalServices.com IP: Logged |
