I am looking for information about extruding plastic sheets to make
acetates suitable for use in inkjet printers. I don't have much experience
in the extrusion/plastics field and was wondering if you could give me a
few pointers as to where to start looking for appropriate
machinery/technical information. I am based in the uk but any info you
could give me would be great.

Before going on a wild goose chase, check the compatability (chemical) of the acetate and the specifc ink to be used.
