I would like to make Pet sheet on my extruder but it has a grooved bush cooling section before heaters. Anyone any idea of what effect this might have on feeding material into barrel.

Running PET on you extruder could:

A) Run great.

or

B) Overfeed the material causing unmelted material to reach the die, which at the worst, could blow off the die head.

or

C) Experience excessive feed pressure and rupture the barrel.

Or any of a number of other things could happen.

This is why plastics extrusion has been studied as a science for the past 40 years. In order to access the science, modeling software has been produced to help predict the outcome before dangerous combination are put together. My ompany represents these tools and I would be glad to discuss their application to your process futher if you contact me directly.
