Sounds like a dirty machine or an incomplete purge between materials. Was the extruder/tooling combination working well and then you developed these lines or ?

Try Ultra Purge for a complete and efficient purge of your line. I have had great success with Ultra Purge. You can find out more at www.ultra-purge.com

Let me know how it works for you.

Typically port lines are a viscosity (or shear rate) issue. Most common:

1) Wrong viscosity material for the spiral design, which either makes the material leave the sprials too quickly or stay in too long
2) Rate not as per the design spec
3) Less common- Uneven melt temperature (i.e. hot inside and cool outside) leading to uneven viscosities (worn screw? temp settings?)

By the way make sure they are die lines and not air ring lines (pretty uncommon on most modern air rings)
