We are struggling to find a minimum extrusion temp of 3:1 ratio of recycled HDPE and talc. We use Davis-Standard 6" single screw extruders feeding into an 8'6"x9"x7" mold (composite plastic railroad ties). The die temp is 475 F at 1500 psi. We would like to keep the temp down while still filling the mold at a decent rate (current fill time - 6 min). The ties require at least 1 hr in a chill bath (55 F) before being removed from mold or die swell ruins the product. At 1 hr internal temps are still in the 430 F range.

Thanks
