I would try <1 MI PP first. It does not like to stick to metal, but will stick to other PP. This will then minimize cross contamination. Let us know how this works. There are other options if this does not work. Tom Cunningham IP: Logged |

At least I had some logic behind my choice. I don't se any advantage for PS in purging for any reason except compatibility, which is not the case here. Tom C IP: Logged |

LOOK INTO A PURGING COMPOUND CALLED BAMBERKO PURGE. IT'S AN ACRYLIC PURGING COMPOUND. WORKS GREAT. POLYSTYRENE BY ITSELF IS NOT A VERY GOOD PURGING COMPOUND. IP: Logged |

Maybe you can try the type UP of ASACLEAN or the ECONOCLEAN purging compound. IP: Logged |

Try using Ultra Purge. It is a new ready to use purge compound imported from Itlay, widely being used in Europe. There is a specific grade for each resin. Safe to use in Hot Runners and can be purged through molds. There are no particulates or abrasives. Is certified for Food Grade Contact. See more at www.rglsales.com, Ultra Purge. IP: Logged |

Anyone know of any good purging compound for for blown Co-Ex LLDPE/LDPE? We are always facing some unmelted resins and not so nice flow of materials. We tried increasing temperature very high, yet still does not solve the problem. And it takes us hours to purge previous materials out. Any suggestions anyone? Any info on purging compounds and the proper method to making it effective? THanx. Anyone with a good start up and shut down procedure for Co-ex blown? IP: Logged |
