I have a question about wire extruder.
when material of wire insulation is changed from pvc to pe or pp the extruder is changed or sometimes is told : PP or xlpe is optional. why? what does differ in the extruder ? would you please told me if it is because limited range of screw feed speed?

Hosein,

The interaction of extruder, material, die head tooling and process set up is complex. When changing materials these elements interact in complex ways. For my sake I have chosen to use extrusion science and technology to help sort out these complex interations. The design tools help to make logical choice in design, and to predict the interaction between the elements.

In the picture below what seems to be a perfectly streamlined wire coating die is actually a poor design with a dead recirculation area in the most unlikely spot. Frankly, I would not be sure if this phenomenon occurs with all material, or just under these conditions unless I ran more simulations.

The point is I don't think anyone can answer your question without a great deal of study or trial and error.
