HUA, To estimate the capacity of your twin screw extruders use these formulas: Typical output: Motor KW * 3 = KG/HR or Motor HP * 5 = Lbs/hr Optimized output: Motor KW * 4.5 = KG/HR or Motor HP * 7.5 = Lbs/hr

Hua, Please define "capacity". Are you looking for annual output? The program is PolyTech's TXS twin screw simulation. If you are interested in more details please email me at tomcun@ptd.net Tom C IP: Logged |

Tom C, The "capacity" mains the amount of the resin contained in the barrel when the extruder is running. Is there any formulas to estimate? Anyway, thank you very much! HUA IP: Logged |

Hua, Yes there are formulas which require he specific geometry. You should be able to get the "Free Volume" from Toshiba. This infomation is used to calculate degrees of fill and residence time distibutions which TXS software also provides. (Once the geometry for a specific machine is put into the software.)
