Does anyone have any general information on the extrusion of PLA (polyactide) resin into thermoformable sheet,,, what are the equipment requirements and can it be run on standard polystyrene systems Also does anyone know the present cost of this material IP: Logged |

Technical data sheets are avaiable for PLA resin on their homepage, "Cargilldow.com". Look under Natureworks packaging section, grade 2002D is thermoforming grade. Main items to address are resin needs to be dried thoroughly before extrusion, and extruder/equipment needs to be purged properly as PLA is not compatible with most commodity resins.
