Hello, I have previously worked with parallel co-rtating twin screw extruders-cascade systems for soft PVC compounding. These extruders work great (berstoff, WP, farrel). I am currently in the process of buying a twin screw for my factory to process soft PVC compounds--My question is 1. How does a conical counter rotating twin screw extruder (not a cascade system) compare with the parallel co-rotating twin screw extruder. There is a major cost difference between the conical versus parallel (parallel being 2.5 times more expensive). Any professional advice in this regards is appreciated. Also if there is a web lonk available to see the comparison, then I will appreciate that also. Best Regards, IP: Logged |

I believe conical twins are used primarily for rigid PVC profile work. You should consider a parallel counter rotating machine for flex PVC compounding. ------------------ Tom Cunningham www.ExtrusionTechnicalServices.com IP: Logged |
