Does anyone have advice related to creating Melt Fracture (surface texture - both sides) in PVB film extrusion (.020" gage). As pertains to A.) Die design, B.)Processing strategies, C.) Material composition or additives to induce MF, or D.) other.

There is plent of information and research out there regarding melt fracture. The issues is related to high shear stress at the polymer-metal interface.

Shear stress can be lowered by;

Lowering the melt velocity
Decreasing the viscosity
Inceasing the slip between the polymer and the metal

There are many lab tests, modeling tools, die coatings and additives that can help.
