As a change from the posts about plastic, 2005's project for myself and a friend is to construct a 1/2 scale replica of a 3" Ordnance Rifle. Actually it will be 52% of full size as we are using a Bofors Gun barrel. The local black powder club holds cannon shoots and we want the accuracy that rifling gives.
The only snag is finding a copy of the origional Ordnance Board drawings for this gun and its carriage (No1 Field Carriage). If any of Feedscrews members/lurkers are involved with a Civil War reenactment group or have a national park near by that they could take some measurements of a 3" Ordnance Rifle (also called the Griffin Gun), I would very much appreciate hearing from you. http://www.cwartillery.org/aguns.html http://www.cross-sites.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/WBTS/weapons/3inch.html
