We are the manufacture of plastic bag and packing materials based in india,
We are interested in getting into the food industry for producing frymes. Need to produce 3 metric tons a day. We need to know what size the screw and barrel need to me, what they need to be made of and what speed the screw must be run.
Your suggustions would be appreciated.

For meeting close to 3 metric tonnes, you need to produce around 200 Kg/h approx.

For producing fryyums or 3rd generation snack, as they are generally called, the most common layout uses 2 separate Extruders- One is cooker and other is former. Cooker is HTST Extruder and cooks the dough mxied with water, and the cooked mass is transported to former or low shear extruder. The former is fitted with die inserts to produce 2d pellets of required shape, and this is obtained by a continuous cutter working at die. The wet pellets need to be dried in 2 stage.. 1st is shaker pre-drier and other is long, main dryer which is having multi deck conveyor belts over which the wet pellets pass, as moisture is evaporated. The Predrying process is usually short followed by long drying time in the main drier. The pellets are generally ready for packing after the main dryer.
