For school and a company we need to explain thoroughly how the corotating twin screw extruder in the company works. It produces dough.
The problem is that the output of the extruder (dough) varies in volume, this is not acceptable for the rest of the production process. This is probably caused by the different qualities of the powder that is putted into the extruder. Sometimes there is more air in the powder and then the volume of the dough is bigger. We gues this air is the reason of the diffences in flow(volume) out of the extruder.
There is already a little hole in the barrel of the extruder so the air can go out, but their is still a difference in volume output.

There is also another problem. Sometimes the powder comes out of the extruder by the input. It is not possible then to put more powder in it at the screws.

Can someone tell us what could be the reasons of our problems?

Can someone tell us if it is possible to calculate the pressure/flow in a corotating twin screw extruder? Can someone tell us if dought aks Newtonian? Every kind of dough?
