I am trying to estimate the average number of twin screw extruder trials it takes to develop a new snack food or cereal product. What has been your experience? 6-8 trials? More? Less? And how long does the typical trial last? 1/2 day? Full day?Any guidance you can provide will be greatly appreciated! ------------------

Hi Diane, Normally if the formulation is right you could hit it off in the first trial itself. But with trial and error maily on moisture content and binding of ingridents it could ttkae 3 to 4 trials.A typical trial should last 3 to 4 hours at the most.Reemeber most food extrusion is at temp ranges from 50 degrees centigrade to 150 degrees centigrade normally. In case you need any single/twin screw extruders for food processing please do contact us. regards vijay boolani BEC quote: Originally posted by Diane: I am trying to estimate the average number of twin screw extruder trials it takes to develop a new snack food or cereal product.
