G'Day:

How accurate (in parallelism) do the molding machine pattens need to be for thin wall packaging applications? One of our client firms is having a problem with production run distortions.

One of the guys here contends that the plattens when the mold is clamped should be no greater than 0.03mm out of parallel vertically and horizontally, and that the maximum bend under clamp tonnage should be no more than 0.05mm?

Any ideas or comments?
