i was wondering if anybody here could give me some hints on how to reinforce a polypropylene plastic part. i have been having problems with my plastic part, it tends to become brittle when introduced with acetic acid. thanks

Acidic Acid, < 1%, 5%, 50%, pure, and even glacial should have no effect on a PP becoming brittle.

I would suggest first of all that you have an IR done on your part to comfirm it is 100% PP. Unknown to you is the possibility that your part is NOT a pure PP itself, but something else, or is contaminated with another polymer.

There is also the possibility that the embrittlement may be the result of UV exposure, and if this is so, you need a PP with an ultra vilolite inhibitor added to it.

Do confirm - by scientific method - that your part is indeed PP. You may have specified PP, but wound up with something else.
