Hi!
I have this horrible new material that I'm trying to injection mold.

When I run at my current machine parameters, there's a horrible case of Part sticking in the mold, so we do an adjustment to:
1) Holding Pressure
2) Injection pressure and speed
3) Holding time

but for any of the above parameters that I play with I either get
1) Short molding or
2) Parts sticking to mold

What is wrong with my material!??!?!
Is there something else I can play around with to solve it?
somebody please advice.

Thank you!

More details about the material would be very helpful to you.

Sounds like a cooling issue, or a high modulus material here. If it's sticking in the mold, it could simply be that the shrinkage parameters are influenced by the high modulus.

What is the material. and the specifications on shrinkage? If your getting short shots, the mold may be to cold. In either case, I think that increasing your cooling temp. will bring you better parts.

Whatever the case, state the material, as well as the spec's for the material.

Oh! I left out the material type and specs!
Okay, here goes:

Material: Soft PVC
(That is like the classic material with the most problems for Injection molding right?)

Material Specs:
Density = 1.210 g/cm3
Tensile Strength @ 500 mm/min = 15.0 Kgf/cm2

I was not given the Melt Flow Rate and others, do I need that too?
Can I see the modulus through the tensile strength?

I used to just tweak machine parameters to mold components using my test materials, without really understanding my material properties. Please do enlighten what I should be looking out for? Where can I find such literature?

Thank You!!
