We are a Russian company in search of the machinery for the production of the profiles from the mixture of the polymers (20-70%)and the wood or cellulose wastes by the extrusion method. The density of the finished product is around 900kg/cu.meter, cross-section is up to 160mm x 160mm. If you have the machinery for this purpose please advise. IP: Logged |

No equipment configuration has to date emerged as the technology leader in this area. Some are using cascade arrangements between twins and singles for both direct extrusion or pelletizing, while others are using conical singles. In either case, screw design and pre-drying is critical. Most wood flour is dried to a few percent moisture level w/ the remainder being removed from the vent. As well, due to the low thermal stability of cellulose, low temperature extrusion (typically w/ PVC) is common. I would talk to Steve Jackson at Coperion Werner & Pfleiderer for the cascade arrangement as I believe this gives you the most options. I have a trip later this month which takes me to Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia and Germany. If you would like to discuss the opportunity of adding Russia to the list, please let me know. I would be happy to discuss further your requirements, potential equipment configurations and assist selecting a vendor... tom black pps, inc.
