I''m looking at an auger system to push "rice coal" up 8 feet
at an approx. angle of 65-80 degrees. This would then go across horizontally
for about 10 feet. The coal would be pushed to a hopper in a coal stove.
I'm not really concerned about speed just results. The hopper holds about
300 lbs. If I can fill this up in a few minutes it would beat shoveling it in
a snow blizzard.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think a small diameter "Flexicon" style conveyor is your best bet.

Rob: If your looking for long life due to abrashion, look into Ultra High Molecular Weight High Density Polyethylene (UHMWHDPE). It's "slickness" is a little less than TEFLON, but TEFLON would abrade away quickly - or wear away.
