Is there any "pre" equipment that I can use to feed a 40 lbs brick/block of polymer into an extruder? Or is there an extruder with an openning that can handle handle a block of polymer? The polymer is high molecular weight and although it can be melted it would take some time.IP: Logged |

How about chopping it into smaller chunks, then feeding to a granulator, then a micro-pulverizer. Rigid PVC (pipe, siding, window profiles) regrind is reduced this way then fed back to the extruder.IP: Logged |

Some rubber extruders have a large opening and screws that are designed to chew away at chunks.Typically a grinder or shredder isa used for size reduction.
