I'm running PS foam sheet for thermoforming (.040 in). The sheet seems excessively soft meaning not very rigid. I'm running about a 30% regrind for the most part. Using butane as a blowing agent. Tandem extruder with a melt of about 470-480 F. Annular die with a melt of 300-305 F. I have a feeling the primary temps are too high. What is a reasonable temp profile for this process? And if it is not the temps making the sheet soft what could it be? Thanks

This melt temperature seems to be too hot. I Will not exceed 450 for this application. Also the amount of nucleating agent takes a very special effect in the characteristics of the foam. Too much nucleating agent the sheet will be soft. Too much nucleating agent and the sheet will be bridle.
