I have to do a thesis on any ONE of the following topics for my masters course. Could anybody give me some advise as to which topic is good to work on.
1) Filled engineering plastics : Nylon and PC filled with nano sized fillers (MMT , saponite) and study properties of these filled polymers.
2) Blends of polysulfones: Impact strength of these polymers can be improved by addition of impact modifiers.Mechanical, electrical and thermal properties of these blends can be studied along with processibility.
3) Universal polymeric master batches: with polyethylene and polystyrene.
4) FRP based on speciality epoxy resins: Reinforce epoxy resins with fibres and study their properties.
5) Evaluation of toxicity index of polymeric compounds: Different compounds will be prepared containing different amounts of plasticisers and additives in twin screw extruder. Standard test specimens will be moulded and subject to mechanical and electrical testing. Test specimens will be placed in heating chamber and gases evolved will be found on portable gas detector.Toxicity index of each compound can be found using a formula. Based on testing and toxicity data , optimum recipe for each application can be suggested.

I'd say #5. Only 'cause it is being studied by PVC and Plasticizer houses. but no data is ever published with fears of another Tobacco like" law suite.
